Nutrition

Why See a Nutritionist?

Are you struggling with health problems, overweight, or simply want to be healthier and don't know where to begin? A nutritionist can help you by assessing your health and lifestyle, making recommendations to improve your diet and providing support and guidance to make long lasting change for better health. Dietary advice will be specially tailored to you and your needs, taking into account your existing commitments and lifestyle requirements.

The Initial Consultation

When you book your initial consultation you will be asked to start writing down everything you eat and drink in a diet diary, to bring to your initial consultation. During your initial consultation your nutritionist will take details of your current diet and lifestyle, and any symptoms you may experience. A body analysis is taken, including BMI, waist-hip ratio and body fat percentage. You will be asked to come back for a second appointment for a full report of findings and recommendations.

Follow Up Appointment

At your follow up appointment you will receive a report of findings consisting of a nutrient analysis of your diet diary and body analysis results. You will be provided with recommendations for improving your diet, and a plan to reach your health goals.

Food Intolerance Testing

According to Allergy UK up to 45% of the population may be affected by food intolerances, which can be associated with a range of unpleasant symptoms including:

  • Bloating
  • Fatigue
  • Headaches or migraine
  • Constipation
  • Skin problems
  • Weight issues
  • Anxiety

Identifying foods you may be sensitive to and eliminating them from your diet can result in an improvement in symptoms. It is important to exercise caution when changing your diet, so our nutritionist can offer advice on how to eliminate foods and will suggest alternatives to ensure you are eating a nutritionally balanced diet.

A range of food intolerance and sensitivity testing is available – please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.

Workshops and Talks

A variety of workshops and talks are run regularly at the centre, offering a friendly group environment to learn about nutrition and begin improving your health. Please see our facebook page for more details on upcoming events.
